I was asked to write a little something for our website and since no one asked to interview me I decided to do it myself…
Did you like it there?: Somewhat, I think it’s a good place to grow up, but by the time I turned 18 I was itching to get out!
Where did you go next?: New Orleans. I applied to two schools, one near NYC and one in New Orleans. I got into the one in NOLA, so that’s where I went. I only knew one person there when I moved.
Tell me a little about your time there: It was great. I got to see, study and play with a lot of really amazing musicians. I started out at Loyola, but transferred to U.N.O after one semester. At U.N.O I had the opportunity to perform with Ellis Marsalis in Brazil, Austria and Italy. New Orleans is also where I made some of my best friends and really gained an appreciation for food/music culture. It’s really a city that really enjoys enjoying itself.
