The Angel's Share

"The Angel's Share", our new album,  will be released on 02 April 2012. We began writing for it in the Summer of 2010, began pre-production in the Winter of 2011, recorded it in the Spring of 2011, and will finally release it in 2 short months. It's been an undertaking, a labor of love, and a fantastical journey. 16 initial songs, of which 13 were recorded, and 11 made the album. The songs that made it, in proper order...

Sobriety and a Funeral Home

The first 5 days of 2012 have been spent sober and holed up in my little Brooklyn cave off Graham Ave. So many details to be taken care of for the album, the upcoming UK and US tours, and life in general. Sobriety bores me unless I'm busy. For the moment, I'm busy enough to be sober...

I wrote this on Facebook last night ~ "straight ahead... just over the horizon... it's staring straight at us... beautiful... ferocious... blood in the water... watch what you wish for...faith, lust, imagination~ don't fail me now... (not a fucking chance)

Was writing lots of music the last few months but no words. Now i'm writing words but no music. Catching up i guess. I made a trip to San Antonio over the holidays, and think i stayed a day or so too long. The shadows grew long and fierce and i felt a sort of melancholy i haven't felt in forever. Can't quite shake it - a good thing in the end i suppose...

We will be shooting the video for "Surf India" in about a week, which means we will be spending a couple of overnights in a quaint little funeral home in our neighborhood. A friend told me to "circle myself with white light" so spirits don't follow me home. I think they should be more worried about me following them home... ha.

a new year

2011 was an amazing year. So blessed by so many people. I want to thank everyone who has showered us with love and energy and helped us get to where we are. We signed a record deal. We made an amazing album in an amazing studio with amazing people. We played London and Wales and toured the US. We rocked NYC time and time again. But most importantly, we fell in love. With each other. With you. With the everything all at once. It hurts.  

This year, we have so much to look forward to. We're shooting the video for our next single, "Surf India" in January. We're playing Hiro Ballroom for the first time. We go on our first proper UK tour in February, followed by a US tour down to SXSW in Austin and the release of THE ANGEL'S SHARE in March. NYC in April, then back to Europe in May for hopefully the lion's share of the Summer. So ready. Thank you. Now let's go break something… Joseph
